Meet the Counselor

At Heartfelt Counselor, counseling begins with the belief that no man or woman should walk through life feeling unhappy, overwhelmed, or alone. The work here is grounded in a cognitive-behavioral approach and, when appropriate, supported by biblical principles to promote clarity, healing, and lasting change.

My foundation for this work was forged long before my academic journey began. As a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, I learned the tactical reality of discipline, integrity, and the weight of leadership. I later integrated this warrior's discipline with rigorous study, earning the intellectual acumen to better serve the complex needs of my clients.

This unique combination of grit and expertise is the engine behind the EYROY Method (The Eyes Are On You)-a framework designed to help you live with authenticity and a deep-seated joy in Christ.

Who I Serve & How I Help
As the founder and lead counselor of Heartfelt Counselor, I provide Christian marriage and family counseling to individuals and couples seeking emotional, relational, and spiritual growth. My work focuses on helping clients understand where they are, clarify where they want to be, and take meaningful steps toward healthy change.
Areas of focus include:
-
Marriage and relationship counseling
-
Pre-marital and post-marital counseling
-
Faith-based individual counseling
-
Emotional and behavioral growth
-
Conflict resolution and healthy communication
Experience & Professional Background
My counseling experience spans clinical, hospital, and faith-based settings, serving children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across diverse life circumstances. This work includes counseling related to mental health, substance abuse, grief and loss, relational conflict, and life transitions.
Professional roles have included work within healthcare systems, psychiatric hospitals, outpatient and inpatient treatment programs, senior care services, and specialized relationship counseling through referral-only practice.
Counseling Approach
My approach integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy with faith-centered insight. This framework emphasizes emotional awareness, accountability, and practical problem-solving, helping clients move forward with intention and purpose.
This approach led to the development of the Eyroy Method, a structured cognitive-behavioral framework designed to support emotional growth, decision-making, and relational health. When appropriate, biblical principles are incorporated to address concerns such as grief, anger, low self-esteem, and intimate relationships.
Education & Credentials
I hold a Ph.D./Doctorate and received doctoral-level education and supervised training in Counseling and Psychology at FICU, with advanced education in healthcare administration from the Univ. of Phoenix and business administration from St. Mary’s University. Additional professional credentials include doctoral diplomate certifications in marriage and family therapy and Christian clinical counseling.

Author & Resource Development
In addition to counseling services, I am the author of multiple faith-based resources available through this website. These works are designed to complement the counseling process by offering reflection, guidance, and encouragement beyond the session.
